Felicity Harvey reappointed as Non-Executive Director

Dr Felicity Harvey CBE has been reappointed for a second term as a Non-Executive Director on the board at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

Her reappointment was approved at a meeting of the Trust's Council of Governors, which includes elected representatives of patients, members of the public and staff. The appointment is for four years, until 14 September 2024.

Dr Harvey was Director General for Public and International Health, until her retirement from the civil service in June 2016. Prior to that, she was director of the Prime Minister’s Delivery Unit.

After qualifying in medicine in 1980 at St Bartholomew’s Medical College, London, she completed an International MBA.

Dr Harvey’s previous positions include private secretary to the Chief Medical Officer and Head of Medicines, Pharmacy and Industry Group at the Department of Health.

She has additional roles at the World Health Organisation and as a Trustee for the Royal Trinity Hospice. She is also a Non-Executive Director for Mediclinic International.

Sir Hugh Taylor, Chairman of Guy’s and St Thomas’, said: “Felicity has a wealth of valuable experience, both from her time as a public health doctor and working at the highest levels of government. She has made an outstanding contribution as a Non-Executive Director of the Trust and I’m delighted she will be staying on for a second term.”

Dr Harvey said: “It has been a great privilege to work with all my outstanding colleagues across the Trust for the past four years, and I am delighted to be continuing for another term”.
