We are excited to introduce you to your new website for Guy's and St Thomas' which we've redesigned to make our website better for our patients and users.

Our new website is based on 3 important principles:

1. Putting patient needs first

We've designed it to be simpler and easier to use, with high quality content and fewer pages so that you can find the information you need quickly. We use plain language, avoid jargon and present information in a way that is easy to understand.

We know more than half of the people who visit our site use their phone or tablet, so the new site puts the needs of mobile users first.

2. Making it accessible

1 in 4 people have a disability so making the new website accessible is extremely important. Ensuring everyone can access the information they need, regardless of background, ability or needs was the main driver behind how it looks and works.

There are fewer words, a reduced number of PDFs and an improved print function which includes large font size, and the ability to print sections with their titles for reference.

We follow web content accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.1) and partially conform to AA standards making our content more accessible to people with visual, hearing, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.

We’ve tested our site extensively, both with people with disabilities and through an independent accessibility testing partner to ensure we’re doing everything we can to meet their needs.

3. Listening to our users

The design and content of the new site is based on user feedback as well as data about how the site is used, accessed and navigated.

We’ve worked with our patients at every step to design and test it which has led lots of changes like ensuring ‘contact us’ information is available on all services and location pages.

But we’re not stopping here. We have a programme of ongoing improvements which we’ll be making over the coming months and you can help us improve the site further.

Please tell us what you think

Please tell us what you think about the new website by completing our website feedback form.

By telling us what you like, or what you think we need to change, you’ll be helping us meet the needs of our users and to prioritise the changes we make.
