Having an EMG test

What is an EMG?

An EMG is an electrical recording of the muscles and/or nerves. Most people tolerate the test well and the procedure will be explained to you in more detail by the attending physician.

Before your appointment

If you have a pacemaker, it's important you inform us by telephone before your appointment. If you are taking Warfarin, please bring your INR booklet and inform the attending doctor before your test.

Please wear loose clothing to this appointment (not jeans) and do not apply moisturisers or oil-based creams and lotions to your skin.

Please contact us on 020 7188 3954 if you have any queries about your appointment.
