Information for patients of the recurrent prostate cancer (RPC) clinic



Clinic times

The Recurrent Prostate Cancer (RPC) clinic is held on the first Monday of the month.

Prior to your appointment

Prior to your attending the Recurrent Prostate Cancer (RPC) clinic, your particular case will have been discussed at a Specialist Multi-Disciplinary Team (SMDT) meeting where surgeons, clinical oncologists, uro-radiologists, uropathologists and nuclear medicine consultants all specialist in RPC are all in attendance. Where possible, if additional examinations/reviews are required, these tests will be arranged before you attend any outpatient appointments.

At your appointment

When you come to the clinic for your appointment you will have a consultation with a consultant urological surgeon specialist in recurrent prostate cancer in addition in addition to a prostate Clinical Nurse Specialist. You may also be asked to meet a number of other specialists including a clinical oncologist, medical oncologist and a research scientist/nurse.

Of note, patients attending the RPC clinic will have the opportunity to access a number of clinical trials evaluating imaging and treatment evaluation in the RPC setting.
