Join a free health seminar for foundation trust members. Seminars are based on the latest research, innovations and new treatments at the Trust and provide a great opportunity to learn how we provide high quality care to our patients.
This research and development seminar will focus on the integrated and specialist medicine clinical group.
Programme
5:30pm to 5:35pm
Welcome and introduction, Dr Kate Blake, director of research and development at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust
5:35pm to 6:40pm
Research undertaken by our allied health professionals:
- introduction to research in allied health professions (AHPs) at the Trust, Dr Jacky Jones, deputy chief AHP, research lead and Trust head of physiotherapy
- exploring hydration hurdles in hospital, David Gray, senior specialist dietician
- better the devil you know - participant perspectives on outcome measures for airway clearance, Dr Gemma Stanford, head of AHPs for research, heart, lung and critical care clinical group
Showcasing research from the integrated and specialist medicine clinical group:
- the INCA study - immune treatment in chronic pain and its challenges, Dr David Pang, consultant in pain management
- changing the lives of those living with severe skin diseases, Carsten Flohr, professor of dermatology and honorary consultant
