Apprentices singled out for recognition
Thursday 9 March 2017
Congratulations to high achieving Guy’s and St Thomas’ apprentices during this year’s National Apprenticeship Week (Monday 6 to Friday 10 March).
Darren Ash, an administrator in the Kidney Clinic at Guy’s, has been chosen to represent South London at Health Education England’s National Apprenticeship Celebration Awards.
This prestigious event will be held on Tuesday 28 March at British Medical Association (BMA) House in Tavistock Square.
These awards celebrate and recognise some of the outstanding apprentices who work in the NHS. The event aims to ensure that the NHS is seen as an excellent choice for potential apprentices.
Two apprentices – Naomi Andrews, who works as an administrator in Clinical Haematology, and Isabella Adams, who is a receptionist in the Dental Department – have been chosen to represent Guy’s and Thomas’ at 10 Downing Street this Friday (10 March).
They will be hosted by No 10’s very own apprentice during their tour of the nation’s most famous address and they will also have an opportunity to share their experiences with other apprentices at this special event being held to mark National Apprenticeship Week.
Courtney Sherwell, Education, Training and Development (ET&D) Associate, says: “Our apprenticeship schemes are a fantastic way to recruit and support young people with new skills and fresh perspectives. Thank you to all teams in the Trust who help them achieve their potential.”
