Pash Mane, a deputy manager in catering services at St Thomas,’ has been awarded a CARE award for helping to deliver a baby at work. He was nominated for a CARE award by his colleagues for acting calmly, quickly and professionally.

The CARE award team winners were the extracorporeal photopheresis (ECP) team who provide a specialist treatment for cancer patients. Extracorporeal photopheresis involves taking some blood from the patient then treating it with UV light before returning it to the patient. It is used to treat T cell lymphoma and other conditions affecting the immune system.  The team received 12 nominations from patients.

One patient said: “I have been receiving ECP treatment for eight months, and have always found all of the staff to be extremely efficient, considerate and friendly.  The care and professionalism the team shows is impeccable and at a very high standard.  They go the extra mile to make sure that the treatment goes well and to listen if we have any problems.”

You can nominate a team or individual by completing the CARE awards online form, which also contains more information about the awards.
