Hannah Reed, Coaching and Mentoring Development Manager at the Trust, won the Gold Award for the best coaching and mentoring programme category at the Training Journal Awards this week.

The award recognises how the Trust’s coaching and mentoring programme has positively changed the lives of staff and patients by integrating coaching practices in patient services. The judges praised the programme for creating a valuable and sustainable coaching culture in the Trust.

Other shortlisted entrants were The Swarovski Group, Dell, Lyreco, The Royal Bank of Scotland, and Southend-on-Sea Borough Council.

Hannah said: “Over the last three years we have developed an in-house mentoring and coaching scheme. I am delighted that the programme has been recognised by the Training Journal, especially as we were up against such tough competition.”

Ann Macintyre, Director of Workforce, said: “This is fantastic and the award is so well deserved by Hannah and the coaching and mentoring team. It is testament to the incredible work our mentors and coaches do in supporting staff to realise their potential.”

The programme supports staff to release their talents and strengths. Staff can register to be matched with a coach within the Trust and are encouraged to meet for a session every month for six months.

The Trust has more than 180 coaches and mentors, and more than 500 staff have accessed the service to date.

Guy’s and St Thomas’ apprenticeships scheme was also one of the finalists in the best apprenticeship programme category of the Training Journal Awards.
