Congratulations to our CARE award winners
Monday 1 February 2016
CARE (courtesy, attitude, respect and enthusiasm) awards are presented each month to teams and individual members of staff who have gone above and beyond to provide exceptional service for patients.
October’s winner was Rachel DeBoer, paediatric allergy dietitian. She was nominated by the parent of a young patient who said: “We are thankful that she supports us in a caring manner whilst also going the extra mile, finding and giving us information about different food products. We feel the service we receive is a credit to the Trust and will contribute to the reputation of Guy’s and St Thomas’ and, in particular, the paediatric allergy team.”
November’s winner was Darlington Uchendu, nursing assistant. He was nominated by colleagues who explained: “Darlington was on his way to an outpatient appointment after a night shift when he spotted a patient who had gone missing from the ward the previous evening. Darlington jumped off the bus and attempted to persuade this patient to return to the ward, called the ward and the police. He stayed with the patient until the police arrived. This showed outstanding commitment to the patient and went above and beyond what was expected of him to ensure the patient was kept safe.”
You can nominate a team or an individual for a CARE award by completing the nomination form.
