Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) were given an insight into how to get to the top of their profession when Chief Allied Health Professions Officer, Karen Middleton presented at a development day for community professionals.
The careers event - which was attended by 40 community AHPs – provided an overview of recent changes in the commissioning and provider landscape and information on leadership, training and mentoring opportunities.
Clinical director and community podiatrist, Helen Rapley, said: “It was inspiring to hear Karen talk about her own career as a physiotherapist. She gave a useful overview of the current political picture and how this might affect healthcare professionals.
"The main aim of the event was for the delegates - who included physiotherapists, occupational therapists, orthotists, podiatrists and prosthetists - to leave with a sense of renewed vigour and pride in the profession,” Helen added.
