Get colourful for the Cancer Centre
Friday 8 May 2015
You can help us reach our £15 million target for Guy’s Cancer Centre Appeal by taking part in fun ‘Get colourful for the Cancer Centre’ activities at both Guy’s and St Thomas’ hospitals from Wednesday 20 to Friday 22 May.
There will be news of an exciting challenge event, a free prize draw and a bake sale.
You can pick up free sunscreen and the Guy’s and St Thomas’ dermatology team will be on hand with information and advice for staying safe in the sun this summer and for spotting the warning signs of skin cancer.
Chief Executive Ron Kerr says: “While construction of our new Cancer Centre is on track, we still have much more to do before we can start treating patients there next year. We need to raise money to add the finishing touches to what promises to be a very special place for cancer patients.
“So far Guy’s Cancer Centre Appeal has raised just over £5 million which means we have just under £10 million left to fundraise.”
Activities taking place during the week include:
- Wednesday 20 May, 11am-2pm, Atrium 2 at Guy’s: learn how construction of the new Cancer Centre at Guy’s is progressing and meet the project team
- Thursday 21 May, 11am-2pm, Atrium 2 at Guy’s: find out all the ways you can support Guy’s Cancer Centre Appeal, including a unique challenge event at Guy’s
- Friday 22 May, 11am-2pm, Atrium 2 at Guy’s and Central Hall at St Thomas’: bake or buy cakes and pies – or both. Come and enjoy some tasty treats to raise money for the Appeal.
