The Harrison Wing, which is one of the largest HIV services in the UK with 3,700 patients currently under lifetime follow-up, is moving from St Thomas’ to Guy’s.

The last Harrison Wing treatment day at St Thomas’ is this Thursday (29 June).

Services will remain closed from Friday 30 June to Tuesday 4 July inclusive before Harrison Wing reopens on the 2nd floor of Southwark Wing at Guy’s at 12.30pm next Wednesday (5 July).

Only emergency clinics will go ahead as normal, patients should call 020 7188 2815 if they require assistance during this temporary closure.

Staff who provide specialist outpatient care and treatment for people living with HIV are relocating to a new home at Guy’s which will be a better environment for patients and staff.

The new Harrison Wing at Guy’s will continue to have its own dedicated pharmacy services and will have a new, dedicated satellite Lloyds dispensary located adjacent to the unit – it will provide a quicker and more private service for patients collecting medication.

Other advantages include:

  • excellent public transport links – the new location is just a couple of minutes away from London Bridge rail and underground station
  • room for expansion – there are plans to redesign the main patient waiting room over time in order to improve the patient experience
  • improved staff facilities – including a staff room and shower facilities which they don’t currently have at St Thomas’.
