Harrison Wing reopens at Guy's
Wednesday 5 July 2017
The Harrison Wing, which is one of the largest HIV services in the UK with 3,700 patients currently under lifetime follow-up, reopens today (Wednesday 5 July) at Guy’s Hospital.
Staff who provide specialist outpatient care and treatment for people living with HIV have relocated from St Thomas’ to a new home at Guy’s which will provide a better environment for patients and staff.
The new Harrison Wing at Guy’s will continue to have its own dedicated pharmacy services and it also has a new, dedicated satellite Lloyds dispensary located adjacent to the unit – it will provide a quicker and more private service for patients collecting medication.
Other advantages include:
- excellent public transport links – the new location is just a couple of minutes away from London Bridge rail and underground station
- room for expansion – there are plans to redesign the main patient waiting room over time in order to improve the patient experience
- improved staff facilities – including a staff room and shower facilities which they don’t currently have at St Thomas’.
