Hospitality team given special CARE award
Friday 16 December 2016
The Hospitality team was presented with a CARE award by Chairman Sir Hugh Taylor and Chief Executive Amanda Pritchard at this week’s Trust Board meeting.
Head of Hospitality Gavin Tiffin, Operational Service Manager Shireen Williams and other members of the team were recognised for their outstanding work over a very hectic pre-Christmas period.
As well as managing a first-class hospitality service throughout the year, the team has provided essential support for major events including the Evelina London Zip event which involved people zip-wiring across the Thames from the top of North Wing at St Thomas’ Hospital.
The event raised more than £1.1 million for Evelina London. The hospitality team helped to facilitate the installation of a marquee and access to a range of essential services, as well as providing hospitality for guests on the day itself.
Gavin Tiffin said: “It’s been a privilege to support major events at the Trust, and it’s meant a lot of hard work for our team. I’m delighted that the whole team has been recognised for their dedication and professionalism.”
CARE awards are given each month to staff who have ‘gone the extra mile’ to provide exceptional care for patients and who demonstrate the Trust’s values in their working lives.
CARE stands for Courtesy, Attitude, Respect and Enthusiasm.
