Finding employment can be difficult in this challenging economic climate but Guy’s and St Thomas’ has been praised for supporting local people to find work.
The Trust won the Best Diversity and Inclusion Strategy category at the In-house Recruitment Awards.
The employability team was recognised for clearly showing how its work on the Prince's Trust Get into the NHS programme, our autism project, work placements, apprenticeships and other initiatives make the Trust an inclusive employer.
The award judges said: “(Guy’s and St Thomas’) clearly demonstrated how the work they are undertaking has a wide impact on a range of people and plays a major part in the cultural shift within the organisation.”
Harlene Dandy-Hughes, education, leadership and development manger, says: “We’re extremely proud to receive this award. We were recognised for proactively working with our local communities and supporting local people to access training and employment opportunities at Guy’s and St Thomas’.”
The In-house Recruitment Awards recognise recruitment teams from organisations and companies of all sizes and across all sectors. Other category winners included well-known brands such as Shell, Boots, Matalan and SC Johnson so competition was tough.
We were also finalists in the following categories:
- Best On-boarding Strategy - for giving new staff access to the knowledge and skills they need
- Most Effective Employer Brand Development - for promoting Guy’s and St Thomas’ as an employer of choice.
