Pumpkin festival helps patients get active in Pulross garden
Monday 21 October 2019
A pumpkin party is being held at the Pulross Centre in Brixton to encourage patients and staff to get active in the garden this autumn.
The centre, which holds weekly drop-in gardening workshops for patients and staff, is welcoming people to take part in a free gardening activity on Thursday 31 October. Everyone who attends the workshop will receive free pumpkin soup and bread.
Patients at the centre, many of whom are inpatients on wards and receiving intensive rehabilitation, are actively encouraged to attend the weekly gardening drop-ins alongside staff and visitors who live locally.
The project is funded by Guy’s and St Thomas’ Charity and run by Lambeth GP Food Coop, a patient volunteer and therapists at the centre on Thursdays from 11am to 12.30pm.
See the Lambeth GP Food Coop's website for more information.
