Friday 12 February 2016
The stroke service at Guy’s and St Thomas’ has achieved an ‘A’ star rating in the Sentinel Stroke National Audit Programme (SSNAP).
The SSNAP aims to improve the quality of stroke care by measuring a service’s quality against national standards. ‘A’ star is the highest rating available
It is the first time that Guy’s and St Thomas’ stroke service has been judged as top quality for two consecutive quarters.
Dr Ajay Bhalla, clinical lead for stroke services, says: “This is a fantastic effort from the team working on the stroke unit at St Thomas’ as it shows we’re providing world class care.
“We’re proud to have been identified as a top quality service and I’m grateful to colleagues for going the extra mile for our patients.”
The Trust’s multi-disciplinary stroke team provides rehabilitation for more than 200 patients every year and focuses on helping patients to adjust to life after stroke and return home.
