How to get treatment
Treatment against the effects of COVID-19 can only be administered within the first 7 days following initial symptom onset. If you experience symptoms associated with COVID-19 and you fall into one of the eligibility groups detailed above, it is important to test as soon as possible. If you test positive, then you should follow the information below to access treatment. You may be entitled to free lateral flow tests for COVID-19.
If you're at the highest risk of getting seriously ill with COVID-19 your GP or hospital specialist should refer you to the CMDU.
If you have not been referred and believe you should be, please contact NHS 111, your GP or hospital specialist (if you have one) to refer you if:
- you have tested positive for COVID-19
- your COVID-19 symptoms started no more than 7 days ago. If you are unsure whether you fall within this time frame our clinical team can help advise you
If you are unable to get in contact with your GP or unable to get NHS 111 to make a referral for you, please contact us.
