Ben Warner
Consultant gastroenterologist
Biography
Ben Warner has been a consultant in gastroenterology at both Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust since April 2018.
At Guy's and St Thomas' he has weekly hepatobiliary and hepatology clinics. He also does cholangioscopy and complex endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP).
At Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust he is the clinical lead for upper gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary cancer. He links into tertiary centres to present patients every week.
He is a senior lecturer at Kent and Medway Medical School.
Education and training
Ben completed most of his training and medical degree research on thiopurines and inflammatory bowel disease at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. He completed a Hepatobiliary Endoscopy Fellowship at King's College Hospital.
He dual accredited in both gastroenterology and general medicine in 2017.

He does about 200 ERCPs every year. He also does other types of therapeutic endoscopy, such as:
- oesophageal and duodenal stenting
- dilatations
- variceal banding and PEG insertions
He also does gastroscopy and colonoscopy with polypectomy.
