Ioannis Loukopoulos

Biography
Ioannis Loukopoulos trained in laparoscopic donor nephrectomy at Guy's Hospital in 2012 and in 2013 he was appointed as a consultant.
He is the lead for robotic donor live nephrectomy and vascular access.
Before coming to Guy's Hospital he worked 5 years as a consultant at the general surgery and kidney transplant unit of Evangelismos hospital in Athens.
He has developed a training model for robotic kidney transplant and is the principal investigator for a multicentre study on biosynthetic grafts for vascular access.
Education and training
Ioannis received his undergraduate medical education and general surgery training at the University of Athens, Greece.
He has a PhD in hepatocyte transplantation.
