Kazumi Chia
Consultant clinical oncologist
Biography
Kazumi Chia is a consultant clinical oncologist specialising in the treatment of central nervous system tumours. She has been a consultant in neuro-oncology at Guy's and St Thomas' since 2021.
She studied medicine at GKT School of Medical Education. After her general medical training in London she trained in clinical oncology at The Royal Marsden and Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trusts.
She was awarded a Cancer Research UK clinical training fellowship in 2008. Her research centred on the development of new PET biomarkers to detect tumour hypoxia, a major cause of radiotherapy treatment failure.
Education and training
She gained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) in 2018, and completed specialist training in 2020. She also completed a PhD at the school of biomedical engineering and imaging sciences, King's College London.
