Biography

Matthew Ryan is a consultant interventional cardiologist at St Thomas’ Hospital and senior lecturer at King’s College London.

Matthew’s practice includes general and interventional cardiology. He has specific expertise in treating complex coronary artery disease, coronary microvascular dysfunction, interventions for patients with heart failure and clinical trials.

His research is supported by the NIHR, MRC, BHF and NIH (USA). In 2024 he was awarded an Advanced Fellowship by the National Institute of Health and Care Research, with £2.8 million of funding to develop new treatments for coronary artery disease in heart failure.
