Richard Cook
Honorary oral medicine consultant and professor of diagnostic technologies
Biography
Richard Cook is an honorary consultant in oral medicine at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. He is also a professor of diagnostic technologies at King's College London.
Education and training
He studied dentistry at Guy's Hospital and medicine at the University of Birmingham.
He completed a Royal College of Surgeons of England fellowship in dental surgery and a Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh membership in general surgery.
He has a PhD in oral medicine.
Research interests
Richard's research interests focus on biomaterials for improved wound healing, bone growth and recovery. His research also focus on the imaging of small vessels around lesions and wounds, monitoring their behaviour in recovery and in malignant conditions.
