Robert Carr
Consultant haematologist and clinical lead for young adult cancer
Biography
Robert Carr is a consultant haematologist at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital, where he specialises in leukaemia and leads the young adult cancer service.
He is an active researcher in the field of haem-oncology and neonatal immunology.
For the last ten years Robert has been a member and, recently, chair of a research ethics committee. He has 30 years experience of recruiting children, young people and adults patients into clinical trials. He has a particular interest in improving patient understanding of the importance of research data collections, and novel approaches to achieving appropriate informed consent.
