Before your appointment

At your first appointment, please bring with you:

  • a list of any medicines you’re currently taking
  • the name and address of your GP
  • any reports or letters you have regarding your problem, such as X-ray or ultrasound report

During your appointment

A member of our foot surgery team will see you at your first appointment. We'll review your medical history to see if you're suitable for day surgery.

We'll assess your problem and discuss treatment options with you. Options for treatment may include surgrey.

We may need to carry out investigations. This could include:

  • X-rays
  • MRI scans
  • ultrasound scans
  • blood tests

We'll request any investigations during your first consultation.

At your second appointment we'll discuss your test results. We'll also discuss the treatment options that are available for your condition.

After your appointment

We'll give you an information sheet. This will help you consider the treatments available. If you wish to proceed, we'll offer you a surgery appointment.

We'll also send a letter to you and your GP with your results and treatment plan.
