How to get an appointment
Your GP or hospital doctor can refer you.
Changing or cancelling your appointment
Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to change or cancel your appointment.

Before your appointment
Your GP will arrange for you to have blood tests and a chest X-ray before your appointment.
Before your appointment you'll receive a text message with a link to questions asking about your symptoms. If you have difficulty completing them you can ask for help at your appointment.
During your appointment
An occupational therapist or physiotherapist will assess you. This may be on the phone or face-to-face.
We'll discuss and agree treatment options with you.
We may recommend more tests or another service. We may refer you to other specialist teams, such as:
- cardiology
- endocrinology
- neurology
- gastroenterology
- ear, nose and throat (ENT)
- sleep
- respiratory
- pain
- community psychology teams
- stop smoking service
Together, we'll agree how best we can support you.
We may refer you to our community long COVID team, who can provide you with:
- one-to-one rehabilitation support
- a long COVID self-management mobile phone app
We may also refer you to other specialist teams, such as:
- long COVID rehabilitation group
- vocational rehabilitation
- persistent physical symptom management service
- improving access to psychological therapies services (IAPTS)
After your appointment
We'll write to you and your GP, usually within 2 weeks to let you know the results of your appointment.
You'll get a follow-up telephone call 3 months after your appointment to review your progress.
3 months after this, or at the end of your treatment, we'll ask you to complete questionnaires again to see how you have recovered. We might also ask you about your experiences of our services.
