Stop smoking

How to get an appointment

You can self-refer to our service.

We also accept referrals from health professionals.

Changing or cancelling your appointment

Please call as soon as possible to change or cancel your appointment.

Please call or text your tobacco dependence specialist directly if you have started treatment and you have their number.

If you don't have their number, please call:

Before your appointment

You do not need to bring anything to your appointment.

During your appointment

At your first session you'll speak to a tobacco dependence specialist who will talk through all your options.

They'll help you decide when the best time to stop smoking is.

Your tobacco dependence specialist will help you decide which stop smoking medicine will work best for you. Visit the NHS website for more information about stop smoking treatments.

We run a 12-week programme. You'll have weekly sessions to support you for the first few weeks after you stop smoking.

You'll get regular carbon monoxide checks to show how much progress you are making. This test shows how your carbon monoxide levels are reducing after quitting.

We'll also give useful tips on coping with 'triggers' and support to help you avoid a relapse.

After your appointment

We'll arrange follow-up appointments at each session.

Text and telephone support is also available between appointments.
