Children's dental service

If your child is having orthodontic treatment, please find out how to refer to our orthodontics service.

We are not accepting referrals for the following:

• Molar endodontics.
• Orthodontic extractions in healthy children where treatment has not been attempted elsewhere.
• Healthy children above 5 years of age with primary caries where treatment has not been attempted elsewhere.
• Management of Molar-Incisor Hypomineralisation in children aged below 8 years.
• Management of anterior opacities/discolouration.
• Management of temporomandibular disorder (TMD).
• Management of a prominent labial fraenum unless in conjunction with orthodontic treatment.
• Uncomplicated enamel-dentine fractures.
• Internal referrals from ECH/Community paediatricians for dental check-ups with no obvious dental disease, unless child is scheduled for surgery/treatment that requires confirmation of dental health.
