Children's heart and lung service changes

Your child’s care might move to a new location as we bring many of Evelina London’s children’s services to one place. This means that most services will be at the Evelina London Children’s Hospital site at Westminster Bridge, which also includes St Thomas' Hospital.

Some of our children’s heart, lung and critical care services are moving from Royal Brompton Hospital. Children and young people having day treatment with sedation or who are staying in hospital overnight will be cared for at Evelina London. Other services already at Evelina London are moving into new spaces. A small number of outpatient clinics are also moving, although the majority will stay at Royal Brompton Hospital.

If your child’s care is moving, we'll contact you with more information.

More information

These moves bring our heart and lung teams together as part of a planned temporary change. This means all the right specialists are in one place to give your child safer, more consistent care, day and night.

The doctors, nurses, and therapists at both hospitals are already part of the same team. We'll do everything we can to make sure your child sees the same specialists you already know. We understand how important these relationships are, and that you might have questions.

If your child currently receives care at Evelina London Children's Hospital, learn more about what's changing.

If your child currently receives care at Royal Brompton Hospital, learn more about why we're making these changes and what to expect.
