Lucy Neave
Consultant haematologist
Biography
Lucy Neave has been a consultant haematologist at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust since 2023. She is based in the Centre for Haemostasis and Thrombosis.
She specialises in diagnosing and treating:
- inherited and acquired bleeding disorders
- venous thromboembolism
- other thrombotic conditions
Lucy has a particular interest in women's health issues relating to bleeding disorders and anticoagulation. She runs specialist clinics for women with bleeding disorders, focusing on:
- pregnancy management
- preconception counselling
- treatment of menorrhagi
Education and training
- MA MSci Natural Sciences, University of Cambridge
- MBBS medicine (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery), St George's, University of London
- Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) (UK))
- Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists
- CCT in haematology (north central London training programme)
Research interests
As a clinical research fellow at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Lucy undertook an MD(Res) focused on thrombotic microangiopathies in pregnancy.
She is actively involved in a number of clinical trials at St Thomas’, including
- novel therapies in bleeding disorders
- management of obstetric haemorrhage
