Community foot health (podiatry)
Your appointment
We provide face-to-face appointments.
How to get an appointment
We accept:
- referrals from GPs
- health professionals
- self-referrals
- referrals from friends, carers or relatives
If you have an urgent foot problem, please come to our emergency foot clinics. You do not need to be referred.
You must be registered with a GP in Lambeth or Southwark.
Changing or cancelling your appointment
Phone: 020 3049 7900
Email: [email protected]
Please tell us if you're unable to attend, otherwise we may discharge you.
Before your appointment
Please bring:
- a list of any medicines you're taking
During your appointment
If this is your first appointment, 1 of our podiatrists will assess you. First appointments take 20 to 40 minutes.
As this is a teaching hospital, we might involve students (supervised by qualified staff) in your care. It's valuable training for students and does not affect the quality of your treatment in any way. Please tell us if you don't want them to be present or involved. We'll always respect your wishes.
After your appointment
We may give you information about your condition, including self-care advice and leaflets.
We may give you a short term care plan before we discharge you from our service.
If your GP referred you, we'll write to them with details about your appointment.
We'll give you details of any walk-in clinics for you to come to if you have any urgent foot problems in the future.
Patient initiated follow-up (PIFU)
If it's available for you, we'll ask if you want to be added to our list for patient initiated follow-up (PIFU) appointments.
