Haemophilia review clinic

This review clinic is for people registered with a bleeding disorder. We'll:

  • assess symptoms and complications of your bleeding disorder
  • review your treatment
  • explore any other relevant medical issues

Members of the home delivery team are also available to discuss any home delivery issues and recording of treatments on Haemtrack.

At this walk-in clinic we assess, treat and advise people who have a new bleeding disorder-related issue. This clinic is for people with a registered bleeding disorder.

This clinic is for existing patients. You can ask for an appointment with the physiotherapist by contacting the physiotherapist or another member of the haemophilia team.

At this clinic we see people who have been referred with a possible bleeding disorder. We do an initial assessment including blood tests and other investigations. We'll discuss diagnosis and treatment options.

We also review people with a family history of bleeding disorders to find out if they are affected. We also see people with a bleeding disorder who have transferred their care to us from another hospital.

At this clinic we see people with a registered bleeding disorder and who have or previously had a hepatitis C infection or chronic liver disease, including cirrhosis.

Women's bleeding disorder clinic

This clinic is for women who are affected by bleeding disorders, or are carriers of bleeding disorders genes. We focus on:

  • helping to manage heavy periods
  • contraception
  • managing pregnancy and childbirth

We also offer preconception counselling services if you have a bleeding disorder or if you are a carrier of an inherited bleeding disorder. We can refer to the genetics service if you're thinking about pre-implantation genetic testing (PGT-M/SR).

This clinic is for people with a bleeding disorder who may need further investigation, surgery or other invasive procedures for a musculoskeletal condition.

Haemophilia transition clinic

This clinic is for young adults with a registered bleeding disorder who are moving from the children's service to the adult service. It is run by the children's and adult bleeding disorder teams. We aim to make the transition between the services as easy as possible for you.

Haemophilia psychologist clinic

You can ask your haemophilia doctor or nurse to refer you to the psychologist. We only manage psychological issues relating to your bleeding disorder or complications from treatment.

We do blood tests in the department via a booked appointment system. Blood tests include routine bloods and specialised bleeding disorder testing.
