Kidney stone service

Referrals

GP referrals

All NHS GP referrals must be submitted using the NHS e-Referral Service (e-RS). Referrals sent by email or post from NHS GPs will not be processed.

Making a referral

We accept referrals where stones have been diagnosed using imaging, preferably CT scan. We don't accept referrals without imaging.

We accept routine referrals from local GPs and from the emergency departments (A&E) at St Thomas' and Lewisham hospitals.

We also accept tertiary referrals for patients with complex conditions.

We offer lithototripsy to patients seen at our hospital and our network partners:

  • Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich
  • King's College Hospital
  • Princess Royal University Hospital, Bromley
  • Lewisham Hospital

Urgent referrals

Please send urgent referrals by email and mark as urgent.

Colic clinic (for patients with ureteric stones only)
