Vascular surgery
Referrals
GP referrals
All NHS GP referrals must be submitted using the NHS e-Referral Service (e-RS). Referrals sent by email or post from NHS GPs will not be processed.
Urgent and 2-week wait (2WW) referrals
Please contact our clinical team using the e-RS advice and guidance service before making a 2WW referral. Consultants are vetting referrals as usual.
If you feel that a referral is absolutely necessary, please refer using e-RS and use the "defer to provider" function for urgent/2WW referrals. Please attach the referral letter at the point of referral.
Tertiary referrals
Please email referrals to us.
We also accept referrals by post.
Referrals from other hospitals must include a completed inter-provider minimum data set. Make sure one is sent within 48 hours of referral.
Urgent and 2-week wait (2WW) referrals
Emergency and urgent referrals must be referred using the Referapatient system.
Referrals from other hospitals must include a completed inter-provider minimum data set. Make sure one is sent within 48 hours of referral.
Emergency referrals
For imminent loss of life or limb vascular emergencies, please:
- contact the on-call vascular registrar at St Thomas' Hospital on 07717 513348, then
- complete the Referapatient referral form
Urgent stable patients will be triaged by the on-call registrar and specialist nurse to the emergency vascular clinic. We'll contact your patient directly when we receive the Referapatient referral form if they are appropriate for a clinic appointment.
We do not accept walk-ins.
