Coronavirus: interventional cardiology service update

In response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, please read our advice and information before sending any referrals.


Who can make a referral

Referrals can be made by GPs, consultants from Guy's and St Thomas' and hospitals in Kent, Surrey, Essex or the Channel Islands.

We also accept referrals from other areas as part of the Cardiac Patient Choice Initiative.

Referrals may be for routine procedures or outpatient appointments. We also take inpatient referrals where patients are in other hospitals but need an emergency or urgent cardiology procedure.

How to make a referral

Referrals from other hospitals must include a completed Inter-Provider Minimum Data Set or ensure that one is sent within 48 hours of referring a patient.
